History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Roger was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Beatrice grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Beatrice. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Laborer. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
