He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: He hates illithids. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Fisher. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and he wants revenge against illithids

History: She comes from a rich northern family. She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Human companion (her 'brother'). She's also a talented Unemployed, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and regain custody of her daughter

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with her old comrades. She has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: She was born in the east. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. She's also a talented Sailor, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Balancing her hectic life and new Bookbinder responsibilities is difficult; and sabotage a competitor
