History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge

History: Dean was born the youngest of three triplets. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.
