History: She comes from a rich northern family. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Griselda grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Griselda. She has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: He was born in the west. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture.

Personality: She is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of dire rats may trigger it at times.

History: Trained by her father for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. Like her father and her brother before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Map Maker. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He shows great sympathy to all travelers. He's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. He has all his life been fascinated with poetry.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Regain custody of his daughter.
