When his father died while fighting drow, the young John began to lead the lost caravan. He's also a talented Detective, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Bookbinder arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions
