History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Through the years after Balimaar was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Balimaar's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Balimaar and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation she is generally quite perceptive. She notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. She takes great pride in her work and is very well organized. Her planner is full of calendar events.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Sage. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: She cares much about the opinion of others, both in good and in bad: when keeping in line with her opinion, she thinks highly of the other person, but when opinions clash, she can get violently argumentative. Her brief stint in the army gave her the idea she was invincible and that she is the toughest woman alive.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Her religion dominates her actions.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite.
