She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Eva grew up listening to her father's many stories. She found a children's book about a Human Paladin who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure her.

History: She comes from a rich eastern family. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. After a long history of fighting, Sybil and her spouse have recently divorced.
