History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Some 7 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Miles never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when goblins swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered painting. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.
