Personality: He hates giants. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Like his mother and his brother before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Jeweler. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Frederick was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it.

She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: To reunite with her absent father; and she wants revenge against illithids
