History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. When Simon reached his early adolescence his Human mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He has dedicated himself to building a better world.

History: Matilda was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her mother gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
