History: Melissa was born to in a poor docking district. She spent her early days working in the same smith shop her father was employed at, doing general labor. At some point she was captured by gnolls and was tortured. After several years of this she finally managed to escape. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike her way of doing things and want revenge; and she is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs
