History: He was born into a rich family. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the island to a summer home near a large cave. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Roger took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up shortbow and armor he uses now. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. He is cautious and jumpy. He reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Born in the west to a Scribe, Randal learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. Like his father and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Scribe. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He dislikes all the random violence that takes place in the north. He misses his home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting giants, the young Bernard began to lead the lost caravan. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Bernard was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.
