History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Rolf was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: He has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Scribe who has hired him part-time. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: Simon hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. A freak accident while working with his Mercenary mother left him crippled. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Description: This woman wears a green cloak and cross-gartered black stockings. She has a penchant for wearing a ring with an oversized ruby on her left hand. Her long chestnut hair reaches down to her waist. Her eyes are green and she is always smoking a pipe.

Personality: She likes to brag about her accomplishments and constantly tries to beat others to the punch. She misses her home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: Her parents moved while she was still in utero so she is the first generation to be born here. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the plains to a summer home near a ruined castle. She would wander through that ruined castle and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. Matilda took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up flail and armor she uses now. One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: While she is on the job, she is grim and serious. She understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. She dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. Her biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: She was born in the north. As a very small child her family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. Her mother, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect her and cast a teleportation spell that whisked her away. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Motivation: She will attempt to ambush and attack anyone she thinks she can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, she will try to sell them to her slave-trader contact; and she wants to meet her childhood hero
