History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Katherine was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. From her teen years she was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on her. Recently a tribe of brigands attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She married young, but lost her spouse to drow. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and she desires to right it
