As a very small child his family refused to pay dues to a local crime lord, who ordered them killed. His father, a somewhat powerful mage sought to protect him and cast a teleportation spell that whisked him away. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help.
