History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her mother's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered dire rats who tried to eat her hand. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Emmeline was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the west were limited. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

History: He was born in a small desert village. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.
