Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Shane's homeland. Shane decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.
