History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Through the years after Adelard was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Adelard's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. Some 8 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Mary never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her father had trained her before.
