History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Engraver responsibilities is difficult; and meet up once more with his childhood friend

Like her father and her brother before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Guard. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Guard for hire.

Motivation: Marry her brother to traveling adventurers.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: To reunite with her absent father; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion
