His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Born in the west to a Shepherd, Adelaide learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She was an apprentice working in her mother's forge. She was granted divine powers by her dying sister.
