Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. He is skeptical of what others tell him and is slow to trust.

History: Heward was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Paladin, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Paladin in service of a powerful lord somewhere. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Butcher born in the past three hundred years. He disdains his fellow easterners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and he has money and likes to spend it

Personality: He considers himself the perfect gentleman. He makes a point to always show proper etiquette and frequently critiques the etiquette of others. He is frequently practicing swordplay.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: Marry his sister to traveling adventurers; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion

Personality: She shows great sympathy to all travelers. She's the type to buy drinks and listen to their stories. She passes on several rewards to people in need. She makes a point to leave places better than she found them.

History: Jane was born with her father's beautiful face. While she appears to be a normal Human, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She's also a talented Fortune-teller, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and to be a fortune-teller again
