History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. Through the years after Clerebold was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Clerebold's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. In her 18th year, her parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Margery alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of brigands; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
