When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. During her travels, Pyra and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Pyra discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Pyra fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.

History: She got into the Assassin business at a young age. While she appears to be a normal Tabaxi, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Tanner hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.
