He always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. After a long history of fighting, Ugol and his spouse have recently divorced.

She was regularly beaten by her mother, who blamed her for driving them apart. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
