History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he has decided he is irredeemable

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Tethren grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Tethren. He now mingles about in high society.
