History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Mella was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Through the years after Artin was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Artin's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Artin and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: A child with a great deal of dancing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She found a children's book about a Human Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Reynard was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Reynard decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: Oppah speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. She is clearly well-traveled and educated. She is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in her opinion.
History: She was raised in a forest tribe. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Oppah grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Oppah. She leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever she goes.
