Thava was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

History: Skirt hails from a village terrorized by brigands. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Skirt grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Skirt.
