History: Her mother raised her in a mountain cabin. Through the years after Emerald was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Emerald's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. The war was a terrible time for him, and Berrian does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Hadwisa abandoned her home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. She survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. She did whatever it took for her to survive. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
