History: A powerful slaver made him what he is. In his 10th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Zook alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help.
