History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Horhog was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Hecat was born on a far southern island where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Mortician. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Like her mother and her brother before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Layabout. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
