Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. At a young age his father died while driving off some drow. His mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in halberd use. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls.
