Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk he knows how to make people feel guilty. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of dire rats once and for all.

History: He got into the Layabout business at a young age. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Aerdeth alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 14 years.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Valanthe was a troubled youth. She spent her days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent her evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Valanthe decided she wanted neither the life of her father nor that of the evil petty criminals she associated with. During her early adolescence, she took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. She is untrained/undisciplined, which makes her dangerous.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
