History: Mardred lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She inherited a moderately successful company from her father. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

History: She comes from a rich northern family. She went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Gnomish artifacts is her passion; and to reunite with her old friends

Personality: He is a melancholic, but persistent worker. He resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Courier but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: Gifted from a young age, Howard studied abroad. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She has never given up on her writing dream.
