History: She was raised in a desert tribe. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: She is wracked by social anxiety; and she wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. A gifted student he started as a Body Guard, but he got bored and became a Layabout. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He desires power and/or immortality; and balancing his hectic life and new layabout responsibilities is difficult

One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.
