History: He was raised by priests from a young age. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. During his travels, Roland and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Roland discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Roland fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

Motivation: He wants revenge against illithids; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Personality: She believes mankind has become decadent and spoiled by the march of civilization and an end should come to life as we know it. A true patriot, Griselda would do anything for her country. She is fiercely protective of her fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. When she was little, her rather wealthy family often ventured across the island to a summer home near a ruined castle. She would wander through that ruined castle and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and she was stranded inside. Her family spent the next few days looking for her, and could only assume she was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Griselda took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up axe and armor she uses now. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
