History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

History: She is a Doppelganger in disguise. She took after her mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. When her mother died while fighting giants, the young Emerald began to lead the lost caravan. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: She got into the Farmer business at a young age. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Vola grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Vola. She became a Farmer soon after.

Motivation: Further expansion of business; and she is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions
