History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He found a children's book about a Gnome Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: Kadana hails from a village terrorized by orcs. Being born in the east, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She was a general practitioner in the east for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.
