History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A freak accident while working with his Cartwright mother left him crippled. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: Wants to have a good time and be beloved; and his religion dominates his actions

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors.
