History: A powerful brothel owner made him what he is. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Smoking grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Smoking. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He has achieved small success as a Priest.

History: She was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for her. It may also be what makes her so good at details. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Motivation: She has a rivalry with the Church that dominates her actions; and she is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs

Personality: She is happy with her job as a Shepherd. She turns her eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. As long as the job gets done she does not care how it got done.

History: She was born into a rich family. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Gnomes in the south were limited. She tends to her Shepherd job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations she has.

History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her mother and father. Her mother taught her the rudiments of the Servant arts, while her father instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She inherited a moderately successful company from her mother. Under her leadership it has flourished, and using capital from her venture she effectively owns an entire region. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.
