History: Mardnab was raised in a hard working conservative environment. She found a children's book about a Gnome Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. Through the years after Nelkin was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north.
