He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Quelenna grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Quelenna. She has worked as a Dyer like her father before her.

The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. She used her abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.
