History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. When Gardain reached his early adolescence his Dwarf father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.

History: She was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Through the years after Thiala was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west.
