History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Avelina and her spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: She has a rivalry with the Church that dominates her actions.

After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: She takes her job very seriously, in part because she fears she cannot get a new one. She is cautious and jumpy. She reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. The family's rival house kidnapped her sister with the intent that her sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. She became part of the deadliest team of assassins in recent memory. A botched job caused the group to be disbanded. By chance she met her sister recently and the two have been together since.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic man, Morthos's first love is himself. His second love is also himself. He enjoys reading and quiet.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions
