Through the years after Shadow was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Shadow's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Shadow and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Elves in the east were limited. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.
