History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Varis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He helped his mother out around the business and became quite the natural. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 9 years.

Personality: She likes to fabricate stories about her past exploits and how crazy she is, but in actuality she is rather bland. She refers to her adoptive father for almost all things she is unsure about, which are numerous. She is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. She was taken from her home at a very young age. She got away from her former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: An old rival family wants her found.

History: Anselm was born the youngest of three triplets. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: Born in the north to a Guard, Five learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. Her childhood dream was to be a Mason, but she was a colossal failure. She became a Guard soon after.

Motivation: To be a Mason again.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. Her family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. She used her abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: She has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Cartwright hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
