History: Jarana was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Sorcerer, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She found a children's book about a Dwarf Sorcerer who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. During her travels, Ranala and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Ranala discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Ranala fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.
