History: Joan lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Marshal they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Herbalist, and she later adopted a second daughter.

Motivation: Her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion.

History: She was born into a rich family. She was one of the best in her class, and was picked up by her current employer. She quickly showed her capability and was soon promoted to a head role. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Personality: She is a melancholic, but persistent worker. She resents family life and as such spurns the advances of admirers. The war was a terrible time for her, and Jacoba does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Jacoba was born on a far eastern desert where she grew up under the tutelage of her mother, an expert Marshal. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: She feels kind of lost in life.

Personality: Stoic and calm, he prefers to meditate than take action. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He now mingles about in high society.

Personality: He is almost excessively polite to everyone, even when angry. He feeds upon the attention of others.

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He now mingles about in high society.

Personality: He dislikes all the random violence that takes place in the north. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: Born in the north to a Priest, Direcris learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He became a Priest soon after.

Personality: She is a Marshal first and foremost. She believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. The occasional robbery is her preferred attention getting crime, but she mainly uses her means for meeting her own perverse desires.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Like her mother and her sister before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Marshal. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: To be a Miner again; and a rival would like her out of the picture
