History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Mary was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. History: The child of southern immigrants she idolized her father. When the war came and ruined her parents she was left adrift. She was a hard woman then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

History: Rurik was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. Through the years after Rurik was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west.
