His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. if successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact

When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Bellfounder hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Half-Orc artifacts is her passion; and she desires power and/or immortality
