History: She comes from a rich western family. In her 14th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Shax alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. During her travels, Shax and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Shax discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Shax fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.

He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and seeks redemption

Personality: Calm and collected, she is a well trained Stylist. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of giants may trigger it at times.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. A gypsy cursed her at a young age, leading to her ugly appearance. She has achieved small success as a Stylist.

Motivation: Sabotage a competitor; and she wants revenge against giants

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Through the years after Heian was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Heian's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Heian was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.
